Internet 4G backup, or otherwise known as failover, means that your broadband

connection is backed up by a secure 4G LTE connection should the main connectivity

service fail. It acts as a second-line source to your main internet connection.

Adding Daisy Anywhere Backup to your current ADSL or fibre Internet, will provide the

redundancy needed to combat future network outages in your business. This solution

includes using a plug and play 4G LTE Dongle that will plug directly into the USB port of

your Technicolor Router.

Why do I need Backup?

Daisy Anywhere Backup is a necessity to protect business continuity in the unlikely

event of an outage or connectivity failure. Having seamless 4G backup would ensure

business-critical applications, connectivity, resource, and resilience would not suffer.

How does it work?

  1. The router identifies when a fixed Internet connection has failed.

  2. A call into support is required for us to a log a fault for you.

  3. We will activate the auto switch to Daisy Anywhere Backup to support internet connectivity over mobile broadband.

  4. Daisy Anywhere Backup enables the router to re-establish internet connectivity to reserve the LAN site and ensure the key processes of your business.

  5. Once service has been restored the modem will automatically switch from Daisy Anywhere Backup to the primary fixed internet service.

What Backup Device do we offer?

You can choose between our Technicolor Routers and compatible 4G ZTE

Dongles, a standalone 4G ZTE Dongle if you’re an existing Daisy broadband

customer (compatible Technicolor router required) or you can choose from our

existing range of 4G routers.

Is 4G Backup unlimited?

Any data you use on 4G backup is limited to your plan’s monthly data allowance.

Our Daisy Anywhere Backup bundle is set at 10gb of data which we feel is

sufficient for backup.

What 4G speeds could we expect to achieve on backup?

4G has mentioned speeds of up to 150 Mbit/s download and 50 Mbit/s upload.

On average 4G download speeds are likely to be between 8 and 10 Mbit/s, with

possible instances of up to 40+ Mbit/s. Typical upload speeds are between

5-6Mbit/s, with possible instances of up to 15Mbit/s.
